Movification is MovieNight's progression system — movie watching, gamified. Nearly everything you do here earns experience points: marking movies as seen, rating them, writing reviews, building lists, voting in Versus matchups, playing trivia, even just spending time exploring the site. XP adds up into levels, and levels place you on the community leaderboard below. There's nothing to opt into and nothing to manage — do the things you'd do anyway, and the numbers go up.
Badges work alongside levels as one-time achievements with their own criteria, from easy pick-ups to legendary grinds — each awarded automatically within minutes of qualifying, and each worth an XP bonus scaled to its difficulty. The Levels tab shows how much XP every action earns and what it takes to reach the next level; the Badges tab shows every badge in circulation, who has earned it, and how close you are. Fair warning: leaderboards have a way of turning "I'll just log this one movie" into an evening.
